We are committed to the development of new products as well as to market development. Our business operations involve the manufacture and assembling of fishing nets, as well as the development and sale of various labor-saving equipment. Through these activities, we take knowledge and experience accumulated over a century in Japan, a nation unrivaled in the fishing industry, and enhance them further with the power of modern science before passing them on to the next generation. Further, we engage in knowledge-oriented, solution-based sales that introduce our customers to fishing methods from other countries that are global leaders in fishing, contributing to the development of the industry. Today, it is also essential that we give due consideration to the environment and aim to realize a recycling-oriented society. Our group’s primary clients are in the fishing industry, and with issues such as declining fish catches caused by changing weather patterns as well as soaring fuel costs due to rising oil prices, the conditions in the industry are becoming increasingly difficult. Ocean pollution, in particular, is a serious issue that we must face in our business activities. As an increasing number of initiatives aimed at achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) get underway in the international community, we too are making our own efforts. These include the industry’s first “net-to-net recycling,” in which scraps produced during fishing net manufacturing are recycled and used as part of the raw materials for new fishing nets. We are also promoting the sale of 100% recyclable copper alloy fish cages. Going forward, we will put even greater effort into solving the issue of marine plastic pollution. As we continue to engage in our main business of manufacturing fishing nets, we will also research and offer fishing nets for labor saving and increasing efficiency in the fishing industry. We will also develop and sell value-added products that contribute to society, such as nets for sports facilities and animal damage protection, by leveraging our fishing net technologies and knowhow. Through these efforts, we will work to further improve our corporate value.
